FAST AND FURIOUS. THE FIRST ROUND OF THE TOUR SERIES KICKED OFF LAST NIGHT AND RAPHA CONDOR SHARP TEAM TOOK HOME THE OVERALL LEADERS JERSEY.
The performance on the night put paid to any jet-lag the team may be suffering. The pace was high from the very start, and any escapes that did form were quickly pulled back on the 1km circuit, shaped like an elongated rectangle with tied turns at either end and the landmark Canada Tower, still Britain’s tallest building, in the centre. Dean 'The Duke' Windsor won one of the intermediate sprints and Graham Briggs took points in several of the other intermediate sprints on the night. Dean Downing former National Criterium Champion finished 3rd.
The team now travel to Durham for the next round on Thursday.
