The Mavic Cosmic S 40 Wheelset brings classic aerodynamic performance and modern carbon construction to traditional rim brake road setups. Engineered around a 40mm deep full-carbon rim, it reduces aerodynamic drag to preserve watts on high-speed flat and rolling terrain. The lightweight unidirectional (UD) carbon layup ensures minimal rotational inertia, providing immediate responsiveness and sharp acceleration when climbing or jumping out of corners.
Safe, predictable stopping power is assured thanks to Mavic’s ITGMAX braking surface technology. Specially developed to resist severe friction heat, ITGMAX prevents overheating on prolonged mountain descents, ensuring consistent pad modulation and structural reliability under heavy braking stresses. The rim depth balances aero gains with stability in crosswinds, making it an ideal upgrade for performance road and competitive endurance bikes.
Equipped with Mavic’s lightweight aluminium hubs and high-grade steel bearings, the Cosmic S 40 delivers smooth, durable rolling performance for daily training and racing alike.
