The new Brompton luggage collection features an urban aesthetic, plus more bag sizes and options than before.
The team at folding bike specialists, Brompton, have launched three new ranges this week: Metro, Borough, and Transit. The revamped collection features bags with urban styling, but will still use Brompton's clever clip-in system to fix the bag to the bike. The new Brompton bags fit all handlebar types, unlike previous versions, which were handlebar specific.
The Borough and Metro ranges use Brompton's robust mounting system, and are designed to clip seamlessly into the Brompton Front Carrier Block. The system ensures that the bike fold and steering are unaffected by the bag and riders don't need to carry a bag on their back or shoulder when riding.
New Brompton bag guide
Designed for the city commuter, the Metro range has seven bags in the collection, all highly water-resistant, and made using recycled plastics bottles. The messenger style bags are a revamp of the classic C Bag and are available in two sizes. There is also a new backpack added into the Metro collection, as well as the Metro Waterproof bag, designed to deal with heavy rain and poor condition the bag with its taped seams for maximum protection from the elements.
The Brompton Borough bags all use roll-top closure, similar to the now-discontinued T Bag. Also made from recycled plastic bottles, the Borough bags offer plenty of space for riders who want to commute, shop at weekends, go on longer trips, and carry more. The stand out bag in the collection is the Borough Roll Top in medium. It has a padded laptop pocket and external strap for off the bike, as well as space to store a helmet.
The Transit range is for riders who want to transport their bike on longer trips, whether that be on on aeroplanes or across Europe by rail, and are designed to protect your bike.
