In front of thousands of spectators on Guildford high street, Kristian House was finally crowned the 2012 Tour of Britain Skoda King of the Mountains today. The Rapha Condor Sharp rider enjoyed his most impressive Tour of Britain ever, spending almost half the entire race in long-range breakaways, showing tremendous form from the 32 year old.
"I was really nervous this morning, perhaps the most nervous I can remember being. Winning this title was something that I really wanted to do, for myself and for my team. I refused to let myself think about it early in the race and just took it day by day. After stage 6 though I started to believe, and this morning I knew I was so close, but I just really wanted to get it done", explained Kristian House.
For Rapha Condor Sharp it was a particularly sweet success; it was the second time that the team had taken the title in two years. Something that John Herety admitted was way above his expectations at the start of the race.
