Government removes £1000 limit on Cycle to Work scheme vouchers

Get a new Condor or Brompton and save up to 39%.

Save 39% on any Condor with the Cycle to Work scheme

The Cycle to Work Scheme celebrates its twentieth birthday this year. The scheme is a government initiative set up to make cycling to work more affordable. A lot has changed since 1999, including bicycle prices as well as the availability of e-bikes, and so the government has decided to remove the £1000 price cap it set for bicycle and accessory purchases. For Condor customers, there is a wider range of bicycles now available to purchase, as well Brompton bicycles and including Brompton Electric.

In recent years, the scheme has been made more flexible, allowing for the purchase of just bicycle accessories with a voucher. The removal of the price cap is the biggest change to the initiative since it was brought in under the Green Transport Plan.

Bicycles over £1000 now available through Cycle to Work

Despite the removal of the £1000 price cap, employers are not obligated to offer an uncapped spend and some may set their own voucher limit. You should check with your employer as to what your new spend limit is.

There are a number of schemes that an employer can join, who administer the Cycle to Work Scheme on their behalf, and Condor Cycle participates in several, making it easier to get a Condor or Brompton and save up to 39%, as well as pay for it over the course of the year or more.
