Product Description

Everyday comfort - Bespoke comfort foam system, designed for the modern city rider.

Ready for whenever - Reduces in size by 50% and easily fits into your bag.

Perfect for city cycling - For your commute, coffee, shops and everything in between.

Traditional helmets are designed and tested for straight impacts, but most impacts are angled, which can cause rotational motion to the head.

The rotational motion can cause brain injuries.

The Low Friction Layer is intended to help reduce the rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts.

How it works?

The Mips® Air Node system is a low-friction layer laminated onto the base of the comfort padding. It’s connected to the energy-absorbing liner with nodes of hook-and-loop fabric touch fasteners. At angled impacts, the nodes are designed to release locally, allowing the padding to slide and reduce rotational motion to the head.

The Mips® Air Node system complements the two-part design of the Newlane helmet perfectly.

Why Mips® Air Node

When a helmet is impacted at an angle, it can cause the head to rotate suddenly and violently. This is a common source of concussions and brain injury.

The Mips® Air Node system is designed to provide movement inside the helmet to help reduce rotational motion to the head in certain angled impacts, thereby lowering the risk of such injuries. The system stays fixed until movement is needed, as it releases upon impact.

  • Lightweight and perforated for ventilation
  • No hotspots or pressure points
  • Stays fixed during normal use, releasing on impact
  • Designed to divert rotational motion
  • No compromise

The Newlane Helmet is built for protection and exceeds the EN 1078 European Safety Standard. Even with its packable design, it maintains the look of a regular helmet.

    High quality

With a team of experts, we've dedicated the last six years to refining our design. Manufacturing in the UK allows us to ensure the highest level of quality for every helmet.

    Easy to recycle

The Newlane is made without any glue which means it's easier to recycle than most other helmets. When you want to replace your helmet, you can send it back to us and we'll break the materials down and recycle them for use in other products.

    A fitted reflector is included.

    • Medium: 56-60cm
    • Large: 61-63cm
