Fulcrum Sharq 42 Disc Wheelset
Tarmac, gravel roads, mixed terrains: the Fulcrum Sharq's can handle it all. The result of extensive research, development and testing, these wheels have a striking wavy carbon rim and classy Direct Inmold Matt Finish that delivers a flawless aesthetic. The wavy rim has a variable depth of 42mm to 47mm, and doesn't just look good, its also incredibly stable in crosswinds compared to other similar depth rims. An inner width of 25mm means tyres of 30mm+ only, and it's optimised for up to 42mm rubber.2-Way Fit technology allows the use of either clinchers and inner tubes or tubeless tyres. When setting up tubeless, there's no need for tape, thanks to the rim bridge not being drilled, so fitting tyres is super simple and fast. In a tubeless setup, you can benefit from improved traction, more comfort and lower rolling resistance, as well as a lesser chance of punctures. The rim is laced to aluminium hubs with smooth ceramic bearings by 24 spokes in a 2:1 ratio, creating a stiff and responsive ride that feels sublime.Each wheel is supplied with its own Identity Card (F.I.C.) which uniquely identifies the wheel and certifies that it has been manually assembled and has passed all tests required by the strict quality protocol.
USB ceramic ultra smooth bearings
Claimed to be 50% smoother than standard bearings, these bearings are also lighter. Improved longevity means less regular maintenance.
2:1 Two-to-One system
Simple yet effective. The spokes are laced in a two-to-one formation to account for the different forces that act on wheels when braking and accelerating. The front wheel has the largest number of spokes on the left (disc brake) side and the rear wheel on the right (driveside). The result is consistent control in all situations, on and off road.
MoMag
A magnet and lots of ingenuity. This was what led to the patent for the well-tested "Mounting Magnet" system, or MoMag.The nipples are inserted into the valve hole and then guided into place by a magnet. In this way, there’s no need for holes on the upper rims, resulting in a completely uniform rim without stress points, ultimately improving longevity and stiffness, for a more reactive ride feel. Additionally, there is no need for rim tape in a tubeless setup.
Axial Fixing System (AFS)
Fulcrum's AFS fixes the disc brake to the hub. This system improves structural rigidity and, therefore, creates more precise and powerful braking. More control equals more confidence.
