Rapha Condor JLT 2014

2017 is the eleventh season that Condor have supported UCI Continental pro cycling team, JLT Condor, marking a significant milestone for the outfit who also received a re-boot to their image.

Widely known as the 'Men in Black' the team was supplied by performance roadwear manufacturer Rapha before they handed the baton over to historic French brand Mavic. After a decade in an all black outfit the team switched to a new palette and partnership with PEdAL ED.

JLT and Condor have both previously enjoyed partnerships with John Herety's teams, as co-sponsors of the Rapha Condor JLT team in 2013-14. In the past two seasons alone Herety's riders took overall wins in the Tour Series, the Tour of Korea, the Tour du Loire et Cher, the East Midlands CiCLE Classic and the Beaumont Trophy, as well as stage wins in prestigious international events such as the Tour of Normandy and the Mzansi Tour in South Africa.

The team is founded on the principles of seeking to achieve the best possible results while always maintaining and displaying the highest levels of professionalism in all levels of cycling competition.
The Jardine Lloyd Thompson group of Insurance Brokers is one of the largest of its type in the world and their ethos of offering a distinctive choice to their clients and partners through their combination of independence and specialism is something that relates strongly to the identity of the team and the brands that it represents.

Charlie Pearch, a senior partner at JLT, commented: "JLT is delighted to continue its support of the UK's leading domestic cycling team in partnership with Condor, who are an iconic part of British cycling's heritage."

In 2017 the team boasts talents of the likes of double Olympic and Multiple World Champion Ed Clancy, former National Road Race Champion and Tour of Britain King of the Mountains, Brenton Jones and Ian Bibby, the 2015 National Criterium Champion and winner of ten races in 2014.

These well-known figures will be supported by a core team of young riders who have been chosen for their potential to be competitive at the highest levels of racing on the domestic and UCI continental calendars, or have achieved success at these levels already. International racing has always played an important part in the domestic successes and development philosophy of John Herety's teams, in 2017 JLT Condor will race a program aimed at increasing international recognition as well as victories on home soil.

The mix of experienced, decorated riders and new, young talent in the JLT-Condor team provides an eclectic mix of feedback, perfect for evolving the bikes for both professional use and cycling enthusiasts.

From international stage races to high adrenaline criteriums, and from mountain top finishes to mass sprints, for the past nine years the Condor Leggero has been the signature bike for team riders. Over this time, the Leggero has helped the team’s riders to double King of the Mountain victories in the Tour of Britain, Tour of Korea, Tour of Japan, Tour of South Africa, a multitude of high profile criterium wins as well as multiple National Championship victories.

Whilst the model name has remained the same though, the Leggero frameset has been constantly evolving through rider testing and feedback, as well as tweaks in the manufacturing processes and improvements in the design and technology of the frame.
