2015 Fratello - smoother and lighter

2015 Condor Fratello

"Settle down into a relaxed tempo and the Fratello provides the easy pace and impressive comfort."
"A bike that can be used for daily commuting, touring and the odd Audax, and even some sportives, the Fratello Disc is a fine choice. I'm in no hurry to give it back."
Dave Arthur –

"It's absolutely excellent, and thanks to the high front end, the Condor is a bike you can ride all day without complaint. With a pannier rack fitted, the bike handles the weight well, and I'd go as far as saying it's probably the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden."
Chris Catchpole – Cycling Weekly (9 out of 10)

The key to the Fratello's success is our determination to keep the material current. The model was first released in 2003 and over the last decade has gone from strength to strength. True to form, we've been developing the frameset and for 2015 it has been revamped. Here is a guide to the key new features and technologies.

1. Carbon fork for disc brakes
Specially designed carbon fork with internal mudguard mounts. The mounts are located halfway up the internal face of the fork leg to ensure the stays do not foul the calliper.

2. Internal fork cable
Internal brake cable eliminates need for external fastening, housing the cable neatly and making the cable easier to fit and maintain.

3. New material and flattened top tube
Built using custom-shaped Columbus Spirit tubing, a responsive triple-butted steel. The flattened top tube developed for the Fratello reduces the material used. The increased diameter provides the strength required for a stiff, responsive ride, which is key to zipping around town.

4. Curved rear stays
We use custom-made curved stays, which is designed to soak up the vibrations from the road, minimising rider fatigue. Built from custom Columbus Spirit tubing, the triple-butted steel is lighter than previous incarnations.

5. Reflective detailing
Reflective panels on the driveside stay provide additional visibility in low light conditions.

The Fratello with new Columbus Spirit tubing is also available in the original caliper brake version. This variant is available with in our classic livery as well as the design featured above.
