We're deep into the season and while winter crit races have begun. Condor staffers are well and truly focused on their cyclo-cross performance. This weekend was the final big race for us to test our fitness and ability, it will provide a gauge for the National cyclo-cross champs and if a trip up to Birmingham is really worth it.
Rouleur photographer Geoff Waugh captured images of the racing. Head Designer, Ben, made it into the top 10 on a tricky, slightly sticky Ipswich course. Epic effort.
1st - Jamie Newall
2nd - Darren Barclay
3rd - Michael Raven
10th Ben Spurrier
Vets - 9th Konrad Manning
Ok if you're thinking - enough already about cyclo cross. This is one of many posts we've devoted to the sport. The trouble is three of the Condor Cycles team can't get enough of the sport and are seen most weekends in Rapha Condor team strip navigating their bikes through singletrack, over hurdles, between trees and puddles.
Cyclo-cross is a great way to keep up your fitness during the cooler months. The loose ground helps hone your gear selection. Whilst pedal technique and handling skills get a good work out too. What does this mean? Better rider on the road, improved anticipation and more efficient riding.
Cyclo-cross is one of the friendliest events and with each race only 40mins to an 1 hour in length it means that they are great for keeping top end fitness ready for the spring.
