Tête de la course - February

Tête de la course is a fortnightly feature where we summarise the latest products at Condor and why we think they are worth stocking in our London store.

This issue:

  • Muc-Off Dirty Work Wipes
  • Condor Winter Hat
  • Rouleur Issue 44
  • Giro Republic Shoes
  • Fizik Arione R3 - Team Issue Saddle
  • Condor Stoage Bottles

Muc-Off Dirty Work Wipes

Muc-Off Dirty Work Wipes - £2.49

Have you ever been a bit too pooped to clean your bike? Too cold after a ride to dunk your hands into a bucket of water? Fear not, the textured Dirty Work Wipes from Muc-Off are perfect for a quick clean and shine. The dimpled wipes are abrasive enough to remove stubborn dirt without you needing to apply too much elbow grease. They are available in single sheet sachets to take on the go, and also available as a workshop roll. Either way, they're kind enough to use on hands.

Condor Winter Hat

Condor Winter Hat - £20.00

Ice cream headaches and frosty foreheads will be banished this February. The new Condor Winter Hat is designed to fend off the cold and beat numb noggins. Made in Italy this well-crafted, tried and test design features subtle neon detailing and windproof outer material, as well as a luxury lining and super soft fleece-lined peak—a perfect accent to any winter ride.

Rouleur magazine

Rouleur Issue 44 - £10.00

Rouleur magazine is back with more racing reportage than you can shake a bicycle pump at. The new issue of Rouleur is in store and it features one of the best young riders you can ever hope to meet, or in our case sponsor, Mr Tao Geoghegan Hart. There are also articles about racing in the Arctic Circle and a feature on capturing the peloton in motion.

Giro Republic shoes

Giro Republic Cycling Shoes - £129.99

Sort of a cross between a sneaker and a retro bowling shoe, the Giro Republic has hit the shelves. The nylon, contrast colour sole is totally walkable thanks to replaceable, rubber-coated gumwall treads, and the perforated microfiber upper should be tough enough for the mean streets of any city. And while it's plenty capable and much more high-tech than it looks, the main point of the Republic is concealing its credentials so you can blend in when you're out biking around town.

Fizik Arione R3 Rapha Condor JLT saddle

Fizik Arione R3 - Rapha Condor JLT Team Issue Saddle - £139.99

The Arione has long been a popular saddle amongst our Rapha Condor team riders, so much so that Fizik made them a special edition saddle featuring a trio of stripes to match the team kit. In mid 2013 Fizik revamped their Arione range and introduced the R3 saddle—the same basic shape with a slimmer rear profile, slightly boader nose and aluminised fibreglass shell. This season Rapha Condor JLT will use the new Arione R3. The saddle features a flash of the classic pink and white and black nose. It's also 50g lighter than the previous incarnation.

Condor Storage Bottles

Condor Storage Bottles - £4.99 (450ml)

For those who don't want to ride with a saddle bag or don't want a saddle bag to obscure their light or rub the seat pin then a storage bottle is the perfect addition to any bicycle. Available in two sizes, it'll store everything you don't want in your jersey pockets from heavy multi-tools and a set of house keys, or even your favourite snack.
