About this model
Our flagship steel frame is as popular as ever, and the original superbike is now even better! Used as a commuter by some, fast tourer or winter trainer by others, its inherent versatility makes it ideal if you don't have space for a stable of bikes. Custom drawn and shaped tube sections used at the seat stays create a responsive frame that minimises rider fatigue and maintains ride quality. The latest model uses lighter and smoother, custom-shaped Columbus Spirit tubing. This responsive triple-butted steel is lively and exciting to ride, whatever the weather.

The geometry of a frame refers to the lengths and angles of its tubes. It directly affects the way you ride and the way the bike handles. Condor's geometries are tried and tested, and adjusted between our models to suit their style.

Perfect geometry for every ride
The geometry of our number one frame is enjoyed worldwide. A slacker head tube compared with our performance range gives you control over tricky surfaces, confidence in busy traffic situations, and the ability to ride all day in comfort.
Deep drop calliper brakes
The Fratello is designed for deep drop brakes. Deep drop brake calipers allow for wider tyres and mudguards to be fitted to the bike ensuring mud and stones don't get trapped between your tyre and fork or guard. We developed our Condor Pioggia Deep Drop brakes to work seamlessly with SRAM, Shimano and Campagnolo. There are also deep drop brake options from Shimano, TRP and Tektro.
Rust inhibiting treatment
After being welded, filed and cleaned of any contaminants from the building process, our steel frames are dipped in a rust inhibiting treatment. The treatment provides a degree of protection, particularly inside the frame, against corrosion caused by acidic substances (including water). We use environmentally conscious treatments that are certified as safe under EU regulations, and not harmful compared to treatments permitted in other regions. Read more
Ovalised tubes
The down tube begins ovalised and becomes hexagonal the bottom bracket; the flattened top tube with a squarer shape makes the tube stronger where stress is greatest, but without adding material. The result: our lightest Fratello frame to date.

Made with Columbus Spirit, triple butted steel
Compliance is confidence. We balance premium Columbus Spirit triple-butted tubing with a tried and tested ride geometry. The length of the chainstays puts the rear wheel under the rider to keep handling nimble and acceleration lively, without compromising control.
Threaded bottom bracket
Condor frames feature a BSA threaded bottom bracket shell. It's an overlooked part of the frame, but a very important one. The lowly bottom bracket doesn’t get much attention, and if it's working properly, that's the way it should be — smooth and silent. BSA is a tried and tested, reliable system, preferred by the two of the most popular component makers, Shimano and Campagnolo. To make life easier, bottom brackets to fit this standard are available from just about anywhere. Fitting a BSA bottom bracket is simple, and the tool required is inexpensive.
Reflective decals
All the decals on the frame are type 1 reflective. The decal utilises high index glass beads dispersed evenly on a thin flexible film to create retro-reflectivity. The high reflectivity of the black or silver decals give you an extra added level of visibility from other angles when commuting, audax riding or winter training
